Notice on the new smoking rules that enter into force in Hungary as of 2 January 2012

The amendment to Act XLII of 1999 on the Protection of Non-Smokers and Certain Regulations on the Consumption and Distribution of Tobacco Products will enter into force as of 2 January 2012. According to this amendment, smoking is possible and allowed for guests only in the enclosed premises of hotels, i.e. in enclosed hotel rooms which are especially let out as smoking rooms and expressly identified as such. An open air, non-enclosed smoking area, farther than 5 metres from the entrance (or entrances), has to be designated and maintained for smokers.
Pursuant to this Act, effective as of 2 January 2012, smoking shall be prohibited inside the building of our hotel. Our hotel continues to offer only a limited number of smoking rooms. We kindly request our guests to indicate their demand for a smoking room in advance at the time of booking otherwise we might be unable to provide them with such a room. For our guests an outdoor smoking area is to be designated outside the hotel. The smoking area, situated at least 5 metres from the entrances, will be accessible from the Shali Mar Bar and the corridor of our restaurant.
