The long-awaited spring has arrived and the year 2011 could not pass without Lotus Retro. The awaking nature, people swimming outside and the bustling town of Hévíz indicated that the wished-for warm weather has finally arrived. You can hear the rumbling of the classic cars in the distance...they must be getting close by now. These cars will be in focus in the next two days. These beautiful cars are just arriving continuously one after the other to the entrance of the hotel and they are greeted by familiar faces. Some of the owners are ‘regulars’ and some are first timers showing off their precious treasures in Hévíz.

As usual, also this year we have been expecting a very successful and popular run. In 2011 the route has been modified and the run was joined with a series of events organised in Hévíz. More than 50 classic cars participated at the main run and joined the row of 30 classic cars waiting at the hotel car park. The open day of Sunday offered plenty of test drive opportunities. For the adults Mercedes, BMW, Hyundai and Toyota models were presented, while the young ones could test drive a few toy-replica pedal cars. Not only classic cars, but also the Nissan Z Club and Lotus Club Austria visited the event, who are by now have become a very exciting part of the beauty contest.

The “Best of Show” recognition awarded based on the votes casted by the visitors gone to the Ford Mustang Fastback- year 1968 (the very famous and legendary Eleanor from the film ‘Gone in sixty seconds’).
